This beautifully crafted 22K yellow gold Byzantine ring is composed of thick gauge wire formed into an open coil and features a large rosette at the center. The petals of the flower are edged with rope detail and the floral motif itself is flanked by groupings of granulation. The decoration includes tightly wrapped twisted rope wire that is adjacent to pairs of applied curvilinear wire shapes. The shapes are mirror images of each other and have granulation arranged in the form of a flower at the center. Each end of the ring terminates in a pyramidal shape that is also composed of granulation.

The ring is in excellent condition with no repairs. It is marked K22 on the interior and measures 6.5 on a mandrel. The ring is a substantial piece and weighs in at 8.2 grams. The front of the ring measures .625" from one end of the pyramid to the opposite point.

This elegant solid 22K gold Byzantine ring is a wonderful piece of craftsmanship and would be a fabulous addition to a collection of fine jewelry. A terrific estate find!
